Thursday, August 25th, 2011

Major League Baseball has released the 2011 post-season schedule and the highlight of the news is that the extra off-days between home games have been eliminated. Good news for baseball fans, especially if they have NLCS tickets, as playoff baseball will be moving faster and the action will be almost non-stop. This is great news for fans, who had a hard time following when playoff games were on and did not appreciate having to wait so long between games. The 107th World Series sees Game One take place on Wednesday, October 19. There should be NLDS and LNCS tickets available as we get closer to the playoffs. The final day of MLB’s regular season is on Wednesday, September 28, and the ALDS will start two days later followed by the NLDS. Keep in mind the NLDS and NLCS will move a bit faster as there won’t be extra off days between games.

The ALDS will start on Friday, September 30th. The NLDS is set to start three days after the end of the regular season on Saturday, October 1. There is going to be a full slate of baseball happening on Saturday, October 1 as both NLDS games will take place alongside Game Two of both ALDS games. TBS will be showing all NLDS games once again, however if you buy NLCS tickets you’ll get to see the action live. The 2011 NLCS is scheduled to start on Sunday, October 9th with Game Seven, if necessary, happening on Monday, October 17th. The date move for the NLDS and NLCS comes as Bud Selig promises that the World Series will end in October- in recent year’s the Fall Classic has ended in early November.

Matt Snyder of CBS sports for one thinks MLB got the schedule right. Accruing to TicketNews the move is good news for ticket brokers as well. Keep in mind the National League team will have a bit on an advantage this year, as the NL will enjoy home field advantage in the 2011 World Series due to the NL finally winning the All-Star Game.
